Self-care should be an integral part of your everyday life. Not only is it important to develop positive feelings towards yourself and the world around you, it’s important for maintaining mental and physical health. Self-care is about discovering, growing and showing your best self from within, that is visible on the outside as well. In the end, you are and you will be, the only person who truly knows how and can take care of yourself in the best way. Although self-care doesn’t mean self-pampering, be sure to include it in your life too.
By practising self-care you will see changes in many aspects of your life.
Resilience is one of the most important aspects of a successful life. Whether it’s in business or private life, being resilient means you will overcome difficulties and tragedies instead of being stuck in an unhealthy situation, mood and outlook. You can learn how to be resilient, but it will also depend on many other factors in your life – from chronic sleep deprivation to constant and consistent negative thoughts, to a general dissatisfaction with work or life.
Stress-free life is a myth. Once a taboo, stress has become an integral part of adulthood. There is no way to remove stress from life completely, but it’s possible to manage it more efficiently. Good self-care includes good time management. Living in line with a schedule and chasing a dream instead of chasing minutes can only be achieved with good time-management skills in place. Create a healthy work and errands schedule to follow, but include at least one personal activity per day for meditation, exercise and social activities. Never feel guilty for saying you are busy for taking time to drink tea with family, or taking private and silent time-off for meditation.

By practising self-care you will have a more positive outlook on life. Self-care is not only about treating yourself with occasional gifts and lazy afternoons. It’s about forgiving yourself on wrong decisions, having understanding and patience for your own needs. Think of how many times you've found forgiveness and understanding for others, while punishing yourself for the exact same mistakes or decisions.
